This core course provides a comprehensive understanding of using Microfocus UFT as an automated functional testing tool for different environments. You will use Microfocus UFT’s graphic point and click interface to record and play back tests, add synchronisation points and verification steps, as well as create multiple action tests.

You will build upon fundamental topics by using debug tools to troubleshoot tests and use additional checkpoints and product options to broaden the scope of business processes that can be automated. Once tests are created, you will discover and correct common record and play back problems. All topics are supported by hands-on exercises that are based on real-life examples

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Create basic scripts from a manual test case
  • Enhance basic tests with synchronisation and verification
  • Parameterize tests to run with multiple sets of data
  • Create and reuse modular actions
  • Use object repository
  • Use debugging tools
  • Use custom checkpoints to create more precise verification points within a test
  • Use Object Repository Manager
  • Describe and use virtual objects
  • Resolve object recognition problems

Typical Audience

This course is intended for new users of MicrofocusUFT who need to automate manual testing and verification in a short amount of time.

Course Prerequisites

These prerequisites are not mandatory, but preferably participants should have a working knowledge of Windows, websites and browsers; and Testing concepts.

Course Delivery

Approximately 50% of the class is devoted to lab exercises.

Throughout the course, an experienced trainer provides lectures and gives exercises based on real world projects. Courses can be given in English or Dutch. Course material is in English.

Course Venue

The course duration is 2 days.

This course can be given at the client’s site or at CTG.

Pricing

€ 1000/person for 2 days. All prices are VAT excluded; course material, lunch and beverages are included.

Cancellation

By Participant: If a subscribed course participant is replaced by another participant or if the public course is postponed to a later date, no cancellation costs apply. A participant or a group that fails to attend, or that cancels a course without at least 15 working days written notice prior to the course start, is liable for the full subscription cost.
By CTG: CTG reserves the right to cancel a course at any time.

All classroom courses begin promptly at 9 am and are scheduled until 5 pm.
All courses are organised at the CTG premises in Diegem (Belgium) or can be given at the client site and are available for groups as well. Please contact us if you wish further information.
