Agile Practitioner with Lego Mindstorms ©

More and more organizations are switching from the traditional waterfall-model to agile development methods (XP, RUP, DSDM, Scrum, etc.), often successfully. For agile team members, a lot of activities, processes and documents undergo drastic changes. How can you neatly blend into an agile team?

During this 3 day workshop, participants will experience firsthand the sequence of activities of an agile team. The workshop uses educational sets of Lego Mindstorms © to build and program a robot, transforming it into an autonomous Mars Rover, whilst absorbing a complete agile experience.

Course Objectives

After this course, the participants:

  • Understand the role of epics in agile team
  • Are able to transform epics into user stories
  • Have experienced the prioritization of epics and user stories, using different techniques (planning poker, T-shirt size, swim lanes, …)
  • Know how to compose a product and sprint backlog
  • Can participate in an agile team while performing different activities (analyze, develop, test, demo, deploy)
  • Will be able to efficiently communicate the status of the project, using story points, velocity, burn-down and burn-up charts, retrospectives and stand up meetings

Typical Audience

The course is recommended for all people who are already involved in agile projects (analysts, developers, testers) and want to increase their effectiveness and anyone interested in activities within agile projects such as managers, Product Owners and SCRUM masters.

Course Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Delivery

The course lasts three days. The emphasis is on building knowledge and skills to a practical application. Practicing the Scrum team approach is an important part of the course. The course is therefore designed as an agile release, including different sprints.

Course Venue

The course duration is 3 days.
This course can be given at the client’s site or at CTG.

€ 1.900,00/3 days. All prices are VAT excluded; course material, lunch and beverages are included.

Cancellation

By Participant: If a subscribed course participant is replaced by another participant or if the public course is postponed to a later date, no cancellation costs apply. A participant or a group that fails to attend, or that cancels a course without at least 15 working days written notice prior to the course start, is liable for the full subscription cost.
By CTG: CTG reserves the right to cancel a course at any time.

Course Logistics

All classroom courses begin promptly at 9:00 am and are scheduled until 5 pm.
All courses are organised at the CTG premises in Diegem (Belgium). All courses can be given at the client site and are available for groups as we ll. Please contact us if you wish further information. The standard language of each course is English.
